Sun Drunk~

trees sun rays on road
Pic from google

Clear skies speckled with gold lace
Balancing the sun on its forehead
Shift and turn,
Carve strange scimitar rays on the road
Playful sparks…split my human heart!

The sensuous beams hover their translucent yellow
and suddenly drop in my eyes; keep still..
I fumble like a night-blind
Adjust my eyes to the slow ordeal
The cuckoos clumsily twitter in the sky…

It’s spring… I watch....
The blooms of Jacaranda and flame of the forest fight
Over the sun in the backyard
I listen hard to the susurration of the quivering gleams
heavy gold like fireburst settle on my face

I gulp it as I would grapes or lemon!

  1. Hahaha! Pleasure and ordeal mix in the sun when it comes bright and summery enough to burst a heart! Even the birds are stunned! And the flowers fight the trees. Such a gulp--fast, before over saturation brings out the drawbacks ... I Love This Poem!
