The blue night spreads
merging the trees, minarets, arches
in a fuzzy blur
…. spills soot,
everywhere.
I, as a watcher
Beaten black-and-blue
pause
for a moment….
lean towards the snailing shadows
Following me
- slowly, softly like a moth
"Everyone carries a shadow.." (Karl Jung)
The beauty of the words captivates me;
awakened! My heart gathers up
Ah, shadows are gyrations of the mind, it's true!
The sapphire earth
-wrapped in its own fears
leads me out of anarchy!
Absolutely spectacular! Love the way your poem flows its way through so smoothly making its mark on the reader's heart!!

I love the mental image of the minarets outlined in a blue blur - beautiful. And I love the "sapphire earth".
ReplyDeleteI like "everyone carries a shadow" and how you worked it in, well done!
ReplyDeleteTo be free of anarchy, I suppose we do imprison ourselves at times, to have firm ground under our feet. I love the shadows in this poem, both snail speed and gyrating, home of fears--need we own them as our way of staying sane? How much do we need our cages? I wonder too about the black and blueness, suspecting those aren't just the colors of night, but what we do to ourselves. Your poem is full of beautiful imagery, very sensual and thought provoking.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful progression out of the shadow of anarchy. This is an excellent work.
ReplyDeleteIts a wisdom the world should have always.........
ReplyDeleteIf you ask me to annotate your poem,I may fail. But I loved the magical charm you invested in your mesmerizing words.you used in the poem.
ReplyDeleteHuman beings have had hate as their favorite trait for long time.
ReplyDeleteWe all carry shadows... it's how we see the beauty in it and then use it to grow in life is what eventually matters. Beautiful... :)
ReplyDeletesprinkled with words and wisdom, the beauty of your poem

ReplyDeleteLove the observation of shadows we carry with us, and wise conclusion: 'The sapphire earth
ReplyDelete-wrapped in its own fears
leads me out of anarchy!' ~ indeed, people - thoughtful species....
I enjoyed the progression here, Panchali. The haiku at the end is stunning, and the image of the sapphire earth will stay with me.
ReplyDeleteFantastic poem. It's mystique found in the shadows. Yes we all have them Jung was right. And fear is what keeps us captive.
ReplyDeleteJung as inspiration, well done.
ReplyDeleteLove how you incorporated the Jung quote into the middle so seamlessly. Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteYour every post leaves me in awe. A mystical piece, Panchalidi★
