Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community for Indian Bloggers

The calendar has just dropped
A Sunday in my room
On the table,
     -the sunlight hovers
The burning begins…
Lines scratch their way
Through my head-flow
 the neighborhood bond is strong.
One waits
over the fence to exchange
thoughts, words,
          imaginations, poems-
The kind ones
Sing praises,
         Inspire
 -we start fusing
            It’s beautiful; its sheer magic
How words erase the niches
Between us…and then,
In togetherness...
minds interlock, ...and
We blossom
         - as poets
In a community
At Poet’s united!

I joined this wonderful community with only a handful of poems. And then, following poets  and linking to PU community became an everyday ritual for me…
Reading and interacting with poets from the other corners of the world has been effective in triggering me to be more introspective. And I must confess, that its wonderful following some of the most incredibly talented poets in  PU-they are true Word Smiths!
Thanks for your support and inspiration, friends.

PS-Our main festival, Durga Puja begins soon in a week’s time! It is the biggest festival for us-- the people from Eastern part of India.  The festivities of Sharadotsav (autumn festival) is long, and need a lot of planning and shopping. So, I am a bit irregular in writing these days. Please bear with me till October end...

  4. Panchali, I am VERY, very touched by your words! I love this idea of a fence (cyber fence) we have here, over which we exchange words every Sunday. It definitely is 'beautiful" and "sheer magic." Though we all are in our own little spaces, it is nice to have this common meeting place....where distance & differences are bridged in a spirit of poetic friendship.

I enjoyed your commentary at the end, Panchali. I do think, being in poetic contact with people from so many different 'corners' DOES cause one to become introspective. Me too. I enjoy the opportunity of learning about other countries, cultures, customs through reading poetry. And though there are some differences, it is nice to see that under it all we are all VERY much the same. Enjoy your festival month, Panchali! And thanks for this poem!

  11. I so love "The calendar has just dropped a Sunday in my room." Love this poem, Panchali, and, especially, your comments which follow. My journey at PU began the same way. I tiptoed in and got hooked! Your post made me smile this morning. I love the idea that we are hanging out by our back fences, sharing our views of the world. Poets so need a supportive, encouraging community in which to thrive. Thanks for this post, Panchali. You made my morning. Enjoy your festival. How I would love to be there! Perhaps, in your writings about it later, I can be:)
