"Love is
healing."-Telling me!
The squabbles
and fights happen
In the
ordinariness of ‘living’
The ‘fizz’
goes down at times,
Not every day
can be aerated!
The story gets
told many times over…
I rant and
rage at my erring husband
A tear falls
An ache twists
An unease slides along the innards
I moan lament
grumble sigh!
Does he hear
me sigh?
I wait for
hours
before I let
him come close…
I think about a world
without a loving husband and I cringe.
He's the anchor of my life--
He's the anchor of my life--
Only in his arms my seasons sprout
the leaves fall; things happen
.....the mists of old age gently rise.
Touch wood!
Touch wood!
O my heart!
….so what, if
his heartbeat seems calmer today
so what, if the eagerness looks diminished now
People in love
do behave differently
Pleasure of
getting upset is there
Only if….someone
cares, persuades…
Tears leave no
marks
Sometimes just
cover the face
Pecking,
picking, quarrelling…
Are all part of marriage game.
Disagreement and love
within the hearts are legitimate
within the hearts are legitimate
They help healing...balance harmony in life
So, let us
LOVE-TO-LIVE
Written for Susan's prompt : http://poetryblogroll.blogspot.in/2015/09/poets-united-midweek-motif.html

ReplyDeleteBikram's
Thanks for the appreciation... and the visit, Bikram. :)
DeleteLove itself is a bit of a rollercoaster. And there is healing and hurting in it. But together it is easier to face the trials and challenges. If you really passionately are in love, there will be conflict. But the healing can be a very special time as well.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking, how can we define the difference between love and obsession– and also what we consider to be normal behaviour?
DeleteI have always thought there is a very fine line there....Thanks for reading, x.
"Let us Love to Live"! Beautifully narrated and played out here for all to see that the quarrel becomes part of the harmony!
ReplyDeleteI particularly love this:
"Pleasure of getting upset is there
Only if….someone cares, persuades… "
Thank you... I am glad that you liked it... and didn't sound incongruous and improbable. AND its a pleasure to see you here., Susan. That was indeed a great prompt! :))))
DeleteYes, we all do these things, don't we? So long as you allow the love to heal the situation afterwards!
ReplyDeleteYes, it happens all the time...and we keep pointing fingers at others, to claim a pedestal. My relationship means I have an ally and confidant - someone I can trust to help with my troubles and listen to my worries....hence, healing comes naturally.
DeleteSo pleased you liked this... thanks for the visit, Rosemary... :))
Perhaps love is about knowing that no matter the squabbles and the tears the other person will still be there...a wonderfully honest and insightful poem
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely, Jae! Understanding is most important is these relationships...healthy love is strengthened by the willingness to understand. Love without understanding normally wilts like flowers without water...
DeleteThanks for coming by.. and making my day... :))
Such a deep and insightful piece :D
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sanaa!
DeleteI think there is a fine line in the 'marriage game.' One really doesn't want disagreement to sour the whole commitment, but since both people are individuals there will times.... In this poem you wrote with honesty of the 'good' and the 'difficult.' I think only with honesty can broken parts of any relationship heal. And yes, 'love-to-live.'
ReplyDeleteI am glad you were touched. It is a gift to me, one I appreciate deeply, Mary! Thank you so much!
DeleteIt is really wonderful when a couple is committed enough to withstand the small irritations and disagreements. That is what it takes, I think - loving the other enough to stick and stay through it all. Such a blessing. Thanks for this, Panchali. It does my heart good, to read of such marriages.
ReplyDeleteYou have the heart of a poetess... you would get the message. Not surprised! :))) I am pleased you enjoyed this, Sherry! Thank you.. :))
Deleteall those squabbles and tears are sweet and reconciliation sweeter when love is there..."So, let us / LOVE-TO-LIVE"...exactly...a lovely poem Panchali di...

DeleteHello Dearest Panchali!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful.
Love is the greatest thing.
Love is us just as necessary to life as food and oxygen.

Lucia

DeletePut two opposites together shake them up and what do you get...a married couple! As an outsider you wonder do they really love each other forgetting that they have created their own world that they are comfortable with. Great poem.
