Soundscapes In Silence~

“When streams are ripe and swelled with rain”
A little silver stream thrives on
    meandering the lush green valley,
I hear its murmur- enjoy the susurration
of the constant music of the water
Tumbling, rolling, dissolving in air
Breath taking sights… beautiful melodies
Wet my heart and mind....

I listen to 'presences and noises'
watch their whimsical playfulness
    lurching on the sides....

We are listeners, deaf in unexpected places
Serenity whispers through
every swoop of a bird,     every stir of a wind,
Oh! Sounds live in the breath of silence
Listen, listen to the noisy sounds….
They are some of the BEST sounds ever –

Forever searching for ears to listen

  2. Spot on with that last stanza . The silence is so full of life and music but we have to be willing to quiet ourselves enough to hear it. I am particularly fond of the song of running water.

  7. We need to take the time to listen to those 'presences and noises' in our surroundings. Those 'noisy' sounds can indeed be delightful when we take time to hear what is being 'said' in the silence.
