Prison Window~

Acold blooded murderer
   Isolated
in the darkest chamber
Drained to the dregs before dying
        Waits reslessly
between the rope and the noose
Predicting …what comes next!

He's all alone at the cell
      battling shadows and guilts
   A self-inflicted blackness
scratch and scratch him through the night.
    Forgiveness seems too far way...
Day in June to live on in the records...
There's just a thin line to be crossed..
...and an even thinner line to go free
Before life slips into an oblivion….
He locks his feeble heart
      that's losing time.

Life incinerates... when windows are shut
…but, being human with wings in his eyes
He finds a haze of sunshine
      peering through the prison-window
-Something like a star over Bethlehem
Sun-rays of an obdurate dawn
-warming, frightening at the same time
Surround him,
-- making his remorseful heart go onto, standby
An end, a pure and total freedom
      he seeks at last...
