Disappearance~

Death
Is a strange reality
It is endless-
Stretches beyond
our human existence.
Life tremulously steps
towards this thawing pasture
...that's the art of surviving!

Oh, I wonder where is that world?

We're loitering on a furious sea
The waves decide...life grows, gains age
It's a long, long wait
One day everything will come to a standstill
Little will be left beyond our ashes-
The leftovers of life!
This icy world, is slowly thawing
We are all waiting for the fate
Destined…to arise at an anointed place
Scrimshawed!

  1. Yes, we are all walking upon that same sea, with the 'waves' deciding our fate. We all hope to have something left after we leave besides our ashes, I think. I hope, for one thing, that my poetry will survive me. Another reason why I write.

Man is not that bothered or that much concerned with how life goes. It'll only bother them in a crisis or worst at the death bed. Quite true Panchali!

  5. your words take me to Krishna and His Gita....death is like changing the worn out
garments...Self (Atma) remains unchanged...the poem is so thought provoking Panchalidi...

  6. Your poem certainly makes us feel the transience and fragility of life! I hope I will be remembered for a few good things though.

  8. Nice lines. Yes death is inevitable. The earlier we come to terms with this fact, the better.

  17. I like the image of the plain spreading out as death, the waves passing us toward it, scrimshaw as symbol. Beautiful.
