Waves Of Crystal~

Ipshita Ray Chakraverti--Good Witch!

My conscience
has served me steadfastly
Chronicling true..  once it
lifted me to the inaccessible peak
tapping the mystic.

On a November afternoon
against the prognosticated sun
My conscience coaxed me to seeing something
beyond the point of consciousness
and I loved drowning in it-
 the Wiccan way...
The vulnerable me--- believed
the dark theories of the Wicca
Watched her in awe...
O' to feel and be felt was a complete bliss.
The Wicca-- feeding tribute to the supernaturals
instilled little seeds of desire in me..
With a penitent heart implanted
energy- cooling my nerves; and
 Suddenly everything seemed so satisfying
Words such as 'infinite' 'eternal'
annihilated dimensions
in that witching hour

An icy enchantment unfolded
Shades of esoteric energies engulfed me
I journeyed into a passage
mingled with life and death
Had a rare glimpse of sorcery
Diversity is beautiful...
Especially when the soul gets maimed-naive;
I want to feel her Guiding Hands...
.....once again
And freeze those spells for good...

---------------

Wicca is a volatile subject.
Ipsita Roy Chakraverti is the only certified good-witch from India. Time and again she has encountered the mysterious ‘X factor’ --a meeting ground between science and the supernatural— and she believes there exists one - transcended force that defies explanation. Some of her strange encounters have been with the rich and famous - the scientist Homi Bhabha, Indira Gandhi and Elvis Presley.

About a couple of years back, I attended her Wicca workshop in Kolkata. I was drawn to this darkly exotic subject and had an amazing fairy-tale kind of an  experience. It was interesting to know about the old pagan ways which were actually not so fearful as I'd imagined them to be...Of course, I didn't go back again. May be, she didn't want me there as she mentioned in her concluding part of the lecture that : “ You can’t choose Wicca – Wicca chooses you.”

She says, "We believe that nothing is inanimate. So tap that energy. Use it. Sensitize yourself to Nature's hidden gifts. Make it work for you. Sometimes you feel life is one dull day following another. But it's not so if you know how to bring the magic back. There is magic, mystery and power in the way of the Wicca, but not as commonly understood..."

  4. I love it!
Wicca is a volatile subject, and I can't in any way understand why. It's a peaceful belief system.
Okay, on a logical level I understand the whys and wherefores. But on a personal level, it makes no sense to me that it should be. People need to open their eyes, minds, and hearts.

    1. You are absolutely right, Anjan. It is difficult to cover Wicca rituals in poetry. I am additionally gratified that you liked the narration despite the weak characterization..Thanks a lot:)

  10. She is indeed a powerful lady. It takes guts to get into something thats so tabooed in our country and not only has she done it but thanks to her we also know that wicca can also be a useful & positive science.

  11. Mystic and mysterious matters always catch minds, though the atheists criticize. So many mysterious things seen and unseen control our physique and psyche. No supreme mind can explain these supernatural phenomenon.Nice is your attempt.

  13. I do think that academically I would like to experience what you did. I think it IS good to understand others' beliefs, to have them explained by a real expert. For me there is a bit of fear of the subject....all the more reason that I should experience firsthand to learn!

  14. This is going to make me sound like a frightful snob but I do not think I could engage with anyone who could conjure up the spirit of Elvis Presley:)

Seriously though, there is magic mystery and power and a lot of things that can and never will be scientifically explained. I also believe in evil spirits a powerful force at work today in our society with its emphasis on egocentricity, materialism, lack of spirituality, generosity and kindness.

I have been told that if one has good karma black magic just does not work on the subject. I think it might be true!Interesting subject and why I like poetry sites.Thank you.
