My Cuppa

Image from google***

In a crowded coffee shop
flicking through a tabloid
thirst hangs; eyes run across
the three-dimensional space…
aroma-filled roasted beans
hit the olfactory nerves
raise energies to peaks;
Coffee-lovers
yelling and shrieking
over mugs of coffee
look like chattering magpies,
the clinking cutlery
bring more zeal
to the greedy palates.
Then the music booms
the decibel level
 goes off the scale…
‘Oh, Good God’….

Seated on a chair,
served up hot; bemused
 in the sight and sound,
I take my first sip…
Ah, the heady aroma
twirls its way to my belly
giving me a kiss of life...
Enjoying the camaraderie
i look at the zappy swirls
insist swirls of cream more
on my zingy Caffé latte...
floating clouds merge and melt
into the dark abyss of cup
my cup brimming with fat; blinks,
tickles my heart...ah,well
I have no time to think...
I’m happy and snappy
nothing can snap me
out of the reverie….

“This seems to be the basic need of the human heart
in nearly every great crisis - a good hot cup of coffee.”--Alexander King
I do so love my cuppa...J

  2. Hi Panchali Ji,

Ahh, a beautiful tribute to a cafe. As they say, a lot can happen over coffee. This time a post has happened. :) :) :)
Beautiful words intoxicated with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. You've made me coffee thirsty, I'm off to get my cuppa :p :p :p
    Is this Starbucks, btw?
