Every morning,
All kinds of birds and animals come
in my garden; the younger ME retorts
'Don't take my apples'!
Hunger drives me on...
but slowly..with age comes wisdom
I realize...
The hungry ones have this habit-- to grab and eat
Once full- they'll leave the feast
We're all part of this chase.. So,
We must learn to give and share!

Yes, Panchali, the birds are hungry too. If you chase them away, where will they go? I too think it is good to be able to share with other creatures. I can't help thinking that really birds share with us what they can....their beauty and their song!!
ReplyDeleteWe must learn to give and share. how true this is. lovely poem which touched my heart.
ReplyDeleteA sweet poem on the beauty of sharing, lovely Panchali!
ReplyDeleteI like the expression 'we're all part of this chase'. How true!
ReplyDeletesmiles...the deer eat the low hanging branches of my grape vine...and the leavings that fall...i figure it is my bit of returning to nature what i have been given you know...smiles.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of sharing with the animals. I always worry about them. One winter night, it was cold, sleeting and miserable and I heard a bear crying at the end of the road. I felt so sorry for him.
ReplyDeleteYes, we need each other!
ReplyDeletePanachali,
ReplyDeleteA must wonderful reflection on life and our progress from young and energetic, until the more placid years with wisdom..A natural progression, and so also the pattern of eating. Grabbing and running, or slowly appreciating.

...aww, what a clever take Panchali... we & the birds --- all the same in some way or another... all get hungry, all get full... we give & take... the hungrier gets to receive more but the one who waits stays longer and receive the better food.... smiles... excellent... i loved it...
ReplyDeleteAll animals and birds share. Its only human being who wants everything for self. We have to learn a lot from nature. Nice thought Panchali.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful thought.... it takes us such a long time to distinguish between the "me" and the "us" and realise that there is no "me" actually! This is so meditative.....
ReplyDeleteVery sweet! In sharing we grow rich. so true!:)
